Tudor with a Twist
Tudor with a Twist
Our vision for this transformation was to strip away the dated elements and craft a space that feels effortlessly refined yet deeply functional. The original dining area had sunken garden beds, coy fish pond, heavy wood accents, and red carpet. This was a perfect opportunity to create something more timeless and modern.
To achieve this, we leaned into a palette of warm neutrals, grounding the space with rich, textural contrasts. The deep slate flooring adds a sense of weight and permanence, while the soft, muted cabinetry keeps the kitchen feeling light and inviting. We opted for unlacquered brass fixtures that will develop a natural patina over time, lending a lived-in elegance. Overhead, striking black pendants balance the warmth with a bold, industrial edge. Let’s just say we are not afraid to mix metals.
The heart of the space is the expansive island—an intentional shift from formal dining to an inviting, communal hub.
The dining room now exudes understated elegance, where classic charm meets modern refinement. A custom oak table, black velvet chairs, and brass accents bring quiet luxury, while the cascading chandelier highlights the intricate ceiling medallion. Original built-ins add warmth, and a muted Persian rug softens the space. Thoughtfully curated, every detail enhances the home’s timeless character.
